CALL BEFORE YOU DIG - IT'S THE LAW ! The Kittery Water District is a member of the Dig-Safe program. Before you dig anywhere (even on your own property) you must contact Dig-Safe to have any utilities in the area marked. The Dig-Safe program will contact the District to advise us of the location of the work. We will mark out any lines we have in the area prior to the excavation. If you are having your driveway reconstructed be sure your contractor calls Dig-Safe. Many water service shut off valves are located in driveways and can easily be destroyed during driveway hot top work.
