SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT FOR 2010

Kittery Water District Consumers:
The 2010 construction season was a very productive one utilizing our staff and equipment to perform the excavation
and pipe installation for all five of our pipeline projects.  The incredibly nice weather and very dry summer season
allowed our crew to remain on schedule and complete all of the work that was planned.  A total of 4,375 feet of new
ductile iron water mains were installed, while 3,599 feet of older, cast iron water mains were abandoned in place.

A full system leak detection audit within the distribution system was performed revealing only two minor leaks in
the District's infrastructure; however, a total of 6 private customer service lines were found to be leaking.  These
private lines were repaired by the customers' contractors.

The District also finalized the purchase of 119 acres of watershed land in the Upper Folly Pond area.  This purchase
will help to protect the pristine water quality of Upper Folly Pond.
